    Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for Network Engineer for a contract opportunity with one of our largest clients!

    Candidates should be willing to work on our W2 ONLY.
    Title: Network Engineer
    Duration: 12 Months through September 2026
    Location: 100% Remote – Client is based out of Chicago, IL (Central Time Zone)
    Pay Rate: $55-65.00/hour on W2 

    This client will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
     
     
    JOB DESCRIPTION
    As an Infrastructure Engineer (Network), you’ll deliver highly available, scalable, and diverse network infrastructure to facilitate key business functions at the company. At the corner of our industry’s best practices and an automation security-first mindset, lies your project work. You’ll leverage both to ensure we deliver data quickly and securely.
     
    Responsibilities

    • Monitors the Data Network for performance degradation, connectivity issues, system events and alerts. Updates and manages tickets through resolution with vendors and internal support groups. 
    • Tests, analyzes, performs corrective actions, and restores network equipment and services in a timely and accurate manner to eliminate/reduce application impact. Provides timely notifications to management/outage team and escalates tickets to appropriate internal and external management as needed.
    • Responds to engagements from the Command Center to assist with network analysis, availability, and drive incident resolution.
    • Carefully plan and implement data network configuration changes, hardware/software upgrades and more
    • Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks and creates, maintains, updates NOC support documentation.
    • Plan and drive remediation of known vulnerabilities on Network Devices
    • Review internal NOC processes and drive improvements & efficiencies to diagnose issues quickly and manage overall workload effectively.
    • Mentor junior engineers on networking fundamentals
    • Achieves product commitments (and influences others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills and contributes to our led technology communities.
    • Uses automation, system tools, open-source solutions, observability and ‘security first’ principles in daily work.
    • Contributes to team agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established norms.
    • Initiates high level solution design approaches, and guides team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise and observability.
    • Participates in internal speaking and advocacy events.
    • Supports research activities to adopt new technology solutions in ways of developing new capabilities.
    • Continues professional education and creates opportunities for core product teams to learn engineering best practices.
    • Coaches immediate chapter and actively fosters the adoption of new technologies. 

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s – Computer Science or related
    • 3+ Years – (Software) Engineering, DevOps or related
    • Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale

     
    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong experience in Cisco Nexus Datacenter Concepts / Platforms including 2k, 5k, 7k, 9k
    • Strong and independent working knowledge and experience with routing protocols OSPF, BGP etc.
    • Strong and independent working knowledge and experience with Spanning-Tree, HSRP, VRRP, tunneling protocols, spine-leaf architecture, and Cisco ACI.
    • Experience with QoS operation and configuration
    • Experience in the following Datacenter technologies: FEX, VDC, VPC, Fabric-Path, VRF, OTV, LISP, VXLAN
    • Independent and proficient working knowledge with network applications such DNS, DHCP and NTP
    • Independent and proficient working knowledge with application content delivery technologies such as F5 (LTM/GTM) and Citrix NetScaler
    • Fundamental knowledge and experience with virtualized compute environments, i.e. Hypervisor, UCS, ESX
    • Experience with compliance working with change control processes and adherence to standards
    • Experience and independent with managing moderate to complex network projects (planning, organizing and managing timelines / objectives)

  • Beckend Engineer

    Beckend Engineer
    Location: Riverwoods Illinois
    Pay: min $58.62 – $72.41/hr
    Duration: 4 months

    As a Beck End Application Engineer, you’ll analyze, develop, and design solutions for our application software. In our Agile environment, you’ll do this by performing technical design, coding with test automation, support, and documentation of software application modifications. Ultimately, through continuous integration, development and testing, you’ll ensure we deliver quality code.  Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management. 

     Responsibilities 

    • Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to production.  
    • Tends to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work related tasks, directs the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers, and helps them continue to grow  
    • Achieves team commitments (and influence others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills  
    • Has an oversight on design decisions and guides team to achieve key results for products assigned to them
    • Remediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failures

     Minimum Qualifications  

    • Bachelors – Computer Science or related  
    • 3+ Years – Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related  

     Preferred Qualifications  

    • Experience in Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS 
    • Programming language experience in Java and/or Python, and various frameworks 
    • Strong working knowledge of data structures and algorithms 
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkin, Git/GitHub 
    • Passionate about high quality standards and test automation practices 
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities 
    • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills 
    • Superb collaboration and communication 

     Bonus Points If You Have:  

    • Experience with OpenShift Container Platform
    • Experience with contract testing using Pact and/or setting up Pact Broker
    • Experience with Golang
    • Full stack web applications development experience using React, Node.js
    • Risk management knowledge
