    Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Systems Operations Engineer for a W2 contract opportunity with one of our largest clients!

    Candidates should be willing to work on our W2 ONLY, NO C2C

    Job Title: Systems Operations Engineer
    Role Type: W2 only
    Duration: 12 months
    Locations: Charlotte, NC/Chandler, AZ/Dallas, TX

    Job Summary: The primary role of this position is to provide day-to-day support of systems and services in for the Enterprise Messaging SMTP Backbone and Email Security apps that handle the inbound/outbound routing of all email to/from the bank. The primary job is to ensure availability of a large on-premise production environment through proactive monitoring and fast response and resolution to any issues. As part of a 24x7x365 global support team, this position may involve on-call support.

    • Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Systems Operations Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Systems Operations Engineering deliverables.
    • Review and analyze moderately complex Systems Operations Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
    • Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Systems Operations Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
    • Collaborate with client personnel in Systems Operations Engineering.

    Technical Skills: 4+ years Production SMTP Email support in a large corporate environment, 25,000 + users; including applications / services as follows: Proofpoint Sentrions (migrating to Proofpoint Cloudmark), Zix/Zixport, Proofpoint on Demand (POD), on-prem systems (PPS), FireEye, SMTP Enterprise Relay (SER), Microsoft Defender, and application channels.

    • 4+ years Sendmail or Postfix experience config
    • 2+ years of secure email product experience (Zix, TLS)
    • 1+ year of Splunk experience searching logs as well as creating dashboards/reports/queries as needed
    • 1+ year Experience with Linux/UNIX scripting
    • Experience with monitoring, observability, and reporting tools (Nagios, Thousand Eyes, bash scripts, Grafana).
    • Experience with implementing TLS (opportunistic and enforced) SPF, DKIM signing, and DMARC authentication methods to improve reputational security.
    • Note: this is not mailbox/Exchange/Exchange Online support

    Other:

    • Test and implement changes using enterprise change management processes.
    • Interact and communicate frequently within own team and with other teams (Messaging Backbone Engineering, Messaging Client Services, Networking, DNS, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Email Security, Exchange, Firewall).
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: event analytics and incident handling
    • Experience determining the root cause of identified issues
    • Knowledge and understanding of technology monitoring applications to ensure 24×7 uptime
    • Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and follow specific guidelines
    • Knowledge and understanding of Service Now, Agile Kanban and Jira
    • Ability to follow corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements


    Required Qualifications:

    4+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
