Technology Business Systems Consultant

Position Overview
We are seeking a Technology Business Systems Consultant to support Financial Crimes Risk Management applications through reporting analysis, data issue resolution, business requirements gathering, testing, and stakeholder collaboration. This role serves as a key liaison between business and technology teams, helping ensure data accuracy, system functionality, and successful delivery of technology solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL skills, excellent technical documentation experience, and the ability to analyze business processes while supporting application enhancements and reporting initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze daily reports to identify exceptions, data quality issues, and operational concerns.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related issues across multiple systems and applications.
- Maintain data mappings, business rules, process documentation, and operational procedures.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to evaluate issues and recommend solutions.
- Perform Product Owner responsibilities, including backlog support, requirement clarification, and prioritization activities.
- Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and validation of system enhancements.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, and data visualizations to support business decision-making.
- Source, analyze, and integrate data from multiple business units and systems.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate communication and information flow between business and technology teams.
- Manage multiple priorities, project schedules, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Business Systems Analysis, Business Systems Consulting, Technical Business Analysis, Product Ownership, or related experience.
- Strong SQL experience with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Experience supporting testing activities including UAT and regression testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technology teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a virtual and cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Risk, Compliance, or Financial Crimes environments.
- Previous experience supporting Wells Fargo or other large enterprise financial institutions.
- Experience with reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualization platforms.
- Experience improving business processes and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Product Owner responsibilities.
- Experience supporting data governance and data quality initiatives.
