Job Title: Leadership Development Facilitator

Location: Richmond, VA – McLean, VA

Duration: 12 Months

Job/Role Description:

  • This role delivers engaging and impactful learning experiences for leaders and associates across the enterprise, ensuring user and business objectives are at the forefront and learning achieves measurable impact on growth and development.
  • Facilitate multi-day leadership development programs in collaboration with other facilitators and program teams
  • Deliver open enrollment competency courses for associates at all levels
  • Provide tailored facilitation aligned to specific stakeholder needs
  • Deliver training on a mix of topics related to leaders, competencies, and team effectiveness, including content for new people leaders on difficult conversations, performance and talent management, giving and receiving feedback, advanced competencies, as well as team effectiveness sessions for intact and cross-functional teams
  • Adjust delivery seamlessly based on learner engagement, ensuring a balance between interactive and instructional techniques
  • Incorporate multi-modal techniques (virtual, in-person, and shared digital spaces) that create an engaging and balanced learning experience for all
  • Set clear, concise objectives that are easily understood by all learners and adjust them in real time based on learner needs
  • Provide clear, tailored instructions and regularly check for understanding throughout sessions to keep learners aligned with objectives
  • Prepare, create, and maintain positive learning environments that foster psychological safety, inclusivity, and respect for diverse perspectives for associates ranging from entry-level to senior leadership
  • Proactively share recommendations with stakeholders and learning designers to identify gaps and emerging needs, grounded in data insights
  • Influence leaders and partners to ensure effective adoption of learning initiatives and partner with Lines of Business to define success metrics
  • Validate learning effectiveness through behavioral observation, rubric-based assessment, and connecting theoretical concepts to practical real-world scenarios tailored to learners’ specific roles
  • Leverage coaching, feedback, and reflective practices to foster personal and peer growth in a collaborative team environment

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 4 years of facilitation experience
  • At least 2 years of experience leading teams with 2 or more direct reports
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically approximately 30% of the time
  • Must be located in Richmond or McLean, VA
  • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage groups, generate conversation, and present content in a compelling and impactful style
  • Strong professional presence and expert content knowledge to effortlessly engage learners using dynamic vocal variation, questioning techniques, and a variety of delivery methods
  • Ability to create immersive learning experiences by connecting concepts seamlessly to real-world applications through storytelling, role-plays, and problem-solving
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to empathetically respond to learners’ needs, build rapport through active listening, and foster psychological safety
  • Proven ability to create and maintain positive, inclusive learning environments for learners at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to recommending improvements and quickly adapting to change
  • Collaborative mindset with experience thriving in team-oriented environments and leveraging coaching and feedback for growth
  • Ability to influence leaders and partners and effectively partner across the organization to drive adoption of learning initiatives
  • Well versed in adult learning principles and experiential learning facilitation
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and learner-centric orientation
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the learning and development field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership development or coaching preferred
  • Certification in CliftonStrengths, MBTI, SDI (Core Strengths), DiSC, or other team or personality assessments preferred
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Experience with acting, improv, or public speaking preferred
