Retirement Analyst
Location: Midtown Tampa, FL

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Retirement Analyst to support the administration, compliance, and ongoing operations of retirement benefit programs for two large utility organizations. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders, retirement vendors, actuaries, and third-party administrators to ensure retirement plans are administered accurately and remain compliant with all applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting both defined benefit pension and defined contribution (401(k)) plans, along with a solid understanding of retirement plan compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Retirement Plan Administration
- Administer defined benefit pension and defined contribution (401(k)) plans.
- Manage participant eligibility, contributions, distributions, and employee inquiries.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities with actuaries, recordkeepers, and third-party administrators.
- Ensure accurate plan administration and participant support.
Compliance & Governance
- Support retirement plan compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
- Assist with nondiscrimination testing, audits, and regulatory reporting.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for internal and external audits.
- Support Form 5500 preparation and filing activities.
Employee Communications
- Create and deliver retirement plan communications and educational materials.
- Assist employees with retirement plan questions and resources.
- Promote retirement readiness through effective communication and support tools.
Projects & Process Improvement
- Participate in retirement plan projects, including plan enhancements, vendor initiatives, and system improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and strengthen plan governance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts across retirement programs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience supporting retirement benefit programs.
- Experience administering both defined benefit pension and defined contribution (401(k)) plans.
- Experience working with retirement plan vendors, auditors, and third-party administrators.
- Knowledge of retirement plan compliance, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
- Experience supporting audits and Form 5500 processes.
