Microsoft 365 Data Migration Engineer (Contract)

Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Microsoft 365 Data Migration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise SaaS-to-SaaS migration from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace. This role will play a critical part in ensuring successful data migration, tenant governance, and compliance while supporting a broader enterprise integration initiative.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on Microsoft experience and can serve as a subject-matter expert within a predominantly Google Workspace-focused engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Microsoft 365 data migrations, including Outlook/Exchange, calendars, OneDrive, and file data
- Ensure Microsoft tenant governance, security, and compliance standards are met
- Support SaaS-to-SaaS and on-prem to cloud migrations
- Perform hands-on engineering work related to tenant configuration, data readiness, and validation
- Partner with risk, cybersecurity, and architecture teams to align on enterprise requirements
- Assist with application integrations and API-based connectivity
- Provide technical guidance and act as a Microsoft SME for migration decisions
- Participate in agile delivery and quarterly PI planning
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Proven experience supporting large-scale data migrations
- Strong background in Microsoft tenant governance and compliance
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting
- Experience in enterprise SaaS environments
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on technical role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power Platform
- Scripting or programming experience (PowerShell, Python, Java, Node.js)
- Familiarity with AWS-based environments
- Architectural-level understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystems
- Prior experience supporting enterprise integrations or mergers
