Title: DevOps/Platform Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI(Hybrid)- In office (Tue, Wed, Thu) – 2 of these days TBD
Assignment: 12 months then eligible for Contract renewal
Pay: $65-75/hr W2 ONLY, NO C2C
Role Summary
This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a modern Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that enables application teams to deliver software quickly and within enterprise guardrails, policies, and standards.
The platform encompasses developer self-service capabilities, standardized application patterns, and automated cloud resource provisioning. The platform is in its early stages and is being built to enable application teams to deliver software efficiently while operating within defined enterprise guardrails, policies, and standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and evolve an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) providing self-service access to cloud application deployment and infrastructure provisioning capabilities
- Create paved roads and golden paths balancing developer autonomy with organizational standards and policy enforcement.
- Design and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code modules representing approved infrastructure and application patterns that are reusable, versioned, well-documented, and secure.
- Implement automated workflows and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, updates, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with application teams to understand needs and shape intuitive platform interfaces.
- Produce documentation, onboarding materials, and example workflows to enable self-service.
- Embed security, compliance, and governance requirements directly into platform workflows Monitor platform usage and performance and continuously improve based on feedback.
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, OPA)
- 2+ years’ experience working with Azure cloud
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
