Database Engineer / SQL Server Developer
Location: Irving, TX (On-Site)
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $65-$75/hr
We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer to support medium-to-high profile initiatives focused on enterprise data services, analytics, and operational reporting within a large financial services environment. This role will work on both run-the-bank and incremental change efforts supporting database platforms and data integration services within the Microsoft technology staack.
The Database Engineer will collaborate closely with technology teams and business partners to analyze, design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analysis and design support for data-related projects and enhancements across all SDLC environments
- Support issue resolution activities including problem tickets, work requests, root cause analysis, and work orders
- Design, develop, enhance, and support SQL Server databases and SSIS data integration solutions
- Partner with technology and business teams to deliver solutions aligned with performance, security, scalability, and compliance requirements
- Participate in planning and execution of database and data services incremental change initiatives
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding timelines, expectations, deliverables, and ongoing support
- Contribute to data architecture and data services platform improvements to support enterprise analytics and reporting
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation procedures, and knowledge base materials
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical input to team members as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of:
- Professional work or consulting experience
- Military experience
- Education or technical training
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Solid understanding of:
- Database design and development
- Data integration and ETL processes
- SDLC methodologies and production support
- Experience working in regulated environments with an understanding of compliance, security, and data governance principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting financial services or banking systems
- Background in analytics, operational reporting, or enterprise data platforms
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional technology and business teams
