Data Engineer III – AWS
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)- open to remote but they would need to work EST
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Pay: $80-90/hr W2
W2 ONlY, NO C2C
Role Overview:
Seeking a hands-on Data Engineer with strong AWS and backend development experience to build and support cloud-based data pipelines, analytics solutions, and API-driven services. This is a delivery-focused role supporting modern AWS data and backend platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and support AWS-based data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows (Glue, Lambda)
- Transform, model, and optimize data for analytics and reporting use cases
- Work with AWS data services including S3, Redshift, Athena, and RDS
- Design and build backend services using AWS Lambda and API Gateway (REST APIs)
- Support AWS infrastructure and deployments using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with technical and business partners to translate requirements into solutions
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role
- Strong hands-on AWS experience (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, RDS)
- Backend/API development experience using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
- Advanced SQL and data modeling skills
- Programming experience with Python
- Ability to work independently in a delivery-focused contract role
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
- AWS certifications (Data Analytics, Solutions Architect, or Developer)
- Experience with Power BI or other BI tools
- Proven experience with AWS QuickSight
- Experience supporting enterprise or regulated environments
