Contract Administrator I / II

Position Overview
We are seeking a Contract Administrator I / II to support the preparation, negotiation, execution, and management of contracts related to engineering, construction, infrastructure, and professional services projects. This role plays a key part in supporting projects that maintain, expand, and modernize electric and natural gas infrastructure operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with contract administration, procurement processes, vendor coordination, and contract risk management within construction, utilities, engineering, or large-scale project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration & Procurement
- Support the preparation, solicitation, negotiation, and execution of contracts
- Assist with contract development for engineering, construction, consulting, software, and professional services agreements
- Coordinate bid evaluations and assist with award recommendations
- Review scopes of work and technical specifications for completeness and contractual alignment
- Support contract closeout activities and documentation
Vendor & Project Support
- Partner with project teams, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle
- Assist with supplier relationship management and vendor communications
- Support change order processing, invoice reviews, and contract compliance activities
- Help identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate contract files and procurement documentation
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and applicable regulations
- Assist with contract-related reporting and tracking
- Support internal audit and compliance activities as needed
Qualifications
Contract Administrator I
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in contract administration, procurement, project coordination, construction, engineering, or related business operations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Contract Administrator II
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in contract administration, procurement, construction, engineering, or project management environments
- Experience negotiating and administering contracts for construction, engineering, consulting, or professional services
- Knowledge of contract types including lump sum, unit price, and cost-plus agreements
- Understanding of contract risk management and contract compliance processes
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP or SAP systems preferred
Preferred Experience
- Utilities, energy, construction, or infrastructure industry experience
- Experience supporting large-scale engineering or capital projects
- Familiarity with contract management software and e-signature tools
- Knowledge of procurement and sourcing best practices
