Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3) is currently looking for a Sr SAM Analyst for a contract opening with one of our largest clients in Detroit, MI!

This is a Contract Opportunity with our company that MUST be worked on a W2 ONLY, NO C2C eligibility for this position.  The details are below.

Sr SAM Analyst

  • The role of the Senior IT Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst is to monitor software acquisition and deployment activities to assure 100% licensing compliance. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software licenses and assets to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and vendor contracts. Plays a major role in handling Software Vendors’ audits and assist in resolving any compliance issues or licensing discrepancies. Leads organizational efforts in defining long-term strategic management of software assets of the organization as well as forming and executing procurement strategies to optimize software spend across the organization
  • Responsibilities:
  • working closely with IT Contracts Management, IT Finance, Legal and other IT operations leaders to provide necessary licensing information to ensure that maintenance,
  • support and upgrade protection renewals are managed in advance of their expiration or end of life.
  • Leads efforts with IT Finance and IT Contract Management to identify savings opportunities for support renewals, software licensing, and services.
  • Manage software licensing to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
  • Leads all major vendor True ups (Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, etc.).
  • Defines and executes strategies designed to mitigate negative impacts, financial and otherwise for
  • Member of the “Software Audit Response” team, plays a major role in handling Software Vendors’ audits and assists in resolving any compliance issues or licensing discrepancies
  • Collects information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
  • Be prepared to share this information with IT Leadership, IT Contracts, IT Finance and others as required.

Ensures the timely and accurate entry and maintenance of information in the SAM database. Ensures it can be used to address software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost. Leads in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information.

  • Communicates through email, individual interview, group meetings, and presentations to end users, management, developers, and vendors regarding software licensing and compliance requirements. 8. Supports and monitors the SAM team’s timely response to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data and information. Provides regular status reporting of licensing compliance and audit results. Leads the SAM team participation in the annual budgeting process by providing data, analysis and reporting as required. Schedules and conducts a periodic review of techniques, practices, and procedures for IT software asset management and licensing compliance to identify Best Practices and opportunities for improvement.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer it to be in Business Administration, Information Systems Management, Materials Management or related area. 8 years of direct work experience required. · 5 years of direct work experience in IT Asset Management required. · 3 years of direct work experience in a healthcare IT organization required. Must include experience supporting end-users, communicating with vendors and working with IT leaders. · Broad knowledge of information technology and licensing practices related to COTS, infrastructure software, enterprise applications software, developer tools, etc. required. · Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions required. · Knowledge of IT Service Management principles and processes preferred. · Knowledge of quality management and/or lean management practices preferred. · IT asset management and discovery tools preferred. · IT contracts management practices preferred. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: · Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) certification or equivalent required. · ITIL V3 Foundation certification required. · MCSE Certification desirable.
