Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Develop program/project controls and artifacts to ensure consistent and timely reporting of key deliverables, risks and dependencies across program disciplines.
  • Utilize established project and program methodology to develop project plans for assigned programs and projects. Where the methodology is not sufficient, create and augment with new processes and establish best practices
  • Develop and maintain work plans that consider the priorities, key milestones, time and cost estimates, resource requirements, task sequencing and identification of tasks that may be performed concurrently to achieve objectives.
  • Mentor and train junior PMs
  • Ensure appropriate program/project governance and decision-making methodology are in place and adhered to.
  • Ensure integrity of original business case is maintained & any adjustments are communicated & understood by all key stakeholders
  • Ensure the timely and quality development and distribution of all deliverables for the program/project.
  • Evaluate program/project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team’s effectiveness.
  • Assist in maturing program/project management methodology, tools, and techniques
  • Resolve issues and determines contingency plans and triggers for risks.
  • As needed, escalates issues to appropriate audiences including key business leaders and team members.
  • Partner with matrix organizations to ensure that appropriate action is taken to identify and implement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement communication and reporting mechanisms to maintain sponsor engagement and promote stakeholder adoption.
  • Ensure appropriate use of tools to track and monitor the financial performance of assigned projects
  • Define and consult on measurement strategies, tools, scorecards and surveys.

Required Qualifications/Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (Advanced degree preferred).
  • Foundational knowledge of Agile methodology. SAFe certification is preferred.
  • 8 years or more of program/project management work experience in related field including process management.
  • Project Management certification preferred (i.e. PMI – PMP, CAPM, etc).
  • Experience in change management evaluation, planning and execution. ADKAR experience helpful.
  • Six Sigma training also valued; Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects.
  • Proven results of building and creating new structures through the use of creativity and innovation management.
  • Experience, ability, and willingness to share knowledge and coach individuals with varying levels of experience.
  • Detail oriented, with proven time management and organization skills (including the ability to engage in multiple tasks and meet deadlines/standards).
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, embracing change and helping others see it as an opportunity and stay focused on goals while adapting to change.
  • Comfortable with raising questions, issues, ideas, or suggestions to co-workers at all levels across all organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written and training, along with excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Works well with larger groups from a wider range of organizations, as well as reporting out to senior executives.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools (including MS Project).
  • Some travel may be required (25%)
  • Prior experience in Health Insurance will be highly preferred
