Job Description/Responsibilities:
In this role, on the MongoDB DBA team, this person will collaborate with our internal customers to deliver an enterprise-level database backend for top-tier applications in development. The candidate will architect, deploy, maintain, and monitor the MongoDB environment, providing data assurance to its users. The candidate is responsible for setting standards, guidelines and best practices for MongoDB technology including MongoDB Atlas on AWS.
Roles and Responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience in AWS Developer roles
- Multiple years of working expertise with MongoDB Atlas
- Experience with provisioning / administering AWS resources using Terraform, CloudFormation and GitHub
- Knowledge of AWS technology stack and solution patterns
- Designed multiple integrations with various on-prem and cloud resources like Service Now, Cloud Watch, Atlas, Dynatrace, etc
- Experience with monitoring and observability systems like Dynatrace, CA APM, Splunk etc
- Experience with Security Concepts (Encryption, Identity, etc)
- Manage and maintain MongoDB database servers in all environments.
- Design and implement redundancy and fail-over strategies.
- Monitor and tune database performance.
- Design and implement backup/recovery strategies per RTO / RPO requirements.
- Provide support for software upgrade and patching
- Mentor team members to develop talent on the MongoDB DB team
- Provide insight to team leadership regarding best practices for MongoDB
- Level 3 support for on call support
- Setup security standards, guidelines
- Experience with database level encryption
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in AWS Developer roles
- Considered expert in the MongoDB Database Administration
- Multiple years of working expertise with MongoDB Atlas
