Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid – 3 days on-site per week)
Type: W2 Contract (No C2C)
Duration: 12 months with potential for extension
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a highly collaborative and cross-functional team supporting a major utility client. This role plays a key part in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, focusing on integration work, geospatial analytics, and data-driven insights.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis within regulated industries such as utilities, along with expertise in facilitating requirements gathering, testing, and supporting agile delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, document, and translate complex business needs into clear and actionable technical requirements.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment across business and technical teams.
- Develop and execute test scripts and test plans to validate requirements.
- Support Agile/SCRUM teams by managing backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria using tools like JIRA.
- Work with cross-functional teams including geospatial, drone, data analytics, and architecture teams.
- Ensure traceability of requirements through development and testing cycles.
- Escalate issues and risks appropriately and provide communication updates to leadership.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with JIRA and Agile/SCRUM methodologies; familiarity with Waterfall processes also valued.
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage test scripts and plans.
- Excellent soft skills including relationship management, stakeholder communication, and attention to detail.
- Experience translating business needs into detailed technical documentation, especially involving integration and data workflows (e.g., Databricks).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with Energy or within the utilities or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with geospatial systems, drone data, vegetation management, and analytics tools.
- Experience working with external partners such as Unity, Infosys, and TS.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
