Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Sr. Communications Specialist for one of our largest clients in Detroit, MI!
Job Title: Sr. Communications Specialist
Duration: 6 months
W2 contract engagement, no C2C.
Location: Detroit, MI
Schedule: Hybrid, once per week.
Key Skills:
- Excellent language, terms, and definitions skills related to technical writing skills
- Digital web editing and copywriting related to information hierarchies, navigation and user interactions
- Business and communications consulting and facilitation across multiple business silos
Engagement Description:
This role is to lead our plain language initiative. Our plain language glossary and do not use list, in collaboration with the corporate editor, is the central truth for language standards across all communications channels.
We identify, research, recommend, and publish language standards based on 3 broad priorities:
1) Supporting new product/solutions launches;
2) Voice of the customer and call drivers;
3) Areas of clutter and jargon that create member experience confusion.
We work across business silos and closely with the research, digital, and communications teams. We do not create direct communication; our role is more of support, editing, and review to check for compliance with published standards.
Required Skills/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Mastery of MS Office
- Experience with SharePoint programming
- Experience with Grammarly and similar writing/editing tools
- Consulting and facilitation skills, ability to work across business silos
- Experience in conducting user research (e.g., usability, card sorting, member panel testing)
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Knowledge and experience in health care and health insurance.
- Knowledge and experience in communications provide personal guidance, explanations of process and workflows, and empathic writing of denial letters.
- Attention to detail, ability to work independently, track files, project, and progress reporting
Education/Certifications:
- Masters in Information Design, Communications, or related.
