Firewall Architect
Location: Tampa, FL 33619 ONSITE – 5 Days/Week
Contract Length: 5 Months, with possible conversion to FTE
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Firewall Architect with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing firewall infrastructure across both IT and OT environments. This role requires experience securing systems like SCADA, ADMS, EMS, OMS, and DMS and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards such as NERC CIP.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and manage firewall architecture for complex IT/OT integrations

Support secure protocols including Modbus, DNP3, ICCP, and OSM

Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., NERC CIP)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize cybersecurity risks

Develop tailored security solutions for enterprise and OT systems
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
-
Or equivalent 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Certifications (Preferred/Required):
-
CISSP, PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCSE, Fortinet NSE
Experience:
-
7+ years in network security and firewall design

Hands-on experience with major firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point)

Proficient in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, firewall rule optimization

Experience with SD-WAN, VPNs, and cloud firewall tools (Azure, AWS)
Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of segmentation, rule lifecycle, IDS/IPS, threat intel

Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible)

Understanding of compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, NERC CIP, ISO 27001)
