Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Data Manager to support the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-level business intelligence solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics 11.x. This role requires a strong foundation in BI reporting, multidimensional modeling, SQL, and data analysis, with an emphasis on collaboration, problem-solving, and delivering insightful visualizations for business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deploy multi-dimensional reports and dashboards using the Cognos Analytics 11.x BI toolset.

Analyze source data using SQL and TM1 tools to resolve data discrepancies and support reporting needs.

Collaborate with business users to gather and document report requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve report-related issues, and implement enhancements based on user feedback.

Manage and maintain PowerPlay models and Transformer-based Cognos cubes.

Partner with the Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1) team on integrated data solutions.

Ensure best practices in data warehousing, relational database design, and multidimensional modeling.

Contribute to performance tuning and optimization of Cognos reports and dashboards.

Collaborate on large-scale BI projects and provide mentorship to junior team members when needed.

Conduct user training and support on Cognos capabilities and new reporting tools or updates.
Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience with Cognos Analytics 11.x, including:
-
Framework Manager, PowerPlay Transformer, Event Studio, Dashboards, Data Modules, Data Sets, and more
-
PowerPlay cubes maintenance and deployment
-

Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and efficient query writing

Understanding of data warehouse design principles and BI architecture
-
Experience working with multidimensional cubes and related reporting tools

Familiarity with TM1 Perspectives or TM1 Architect

Experience with Cognos security administration
Preferred Skills:
-
Exposure to additional BI/analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, SAS, Python, or IBM DataStage

Strong experience in report performance tuning and BI visualization best practices

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders

Strong analytical thinking, conceptual clarity, and troubleshooting skills

Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and accuracy

Passion for continuous learning and adapting to new technologies
Education & Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or related field

Cognos certifications (preferred but not required)
