Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will independently gather, analyze, and document business requirements while leading process improvements and system implementations. This role involves working closely with stakeholders, development teams, and QA teams to ensure that business needs are translated into actionable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently assemble, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Lead the definition of high-level application relationships, workflows, and business processes.
- Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRD), including cost analysis, objectives, milestones, and timelines.
- Perform business analysis and provide project management support.
- Interpret and analyze data to derive actionable insights.
- Create detailed functional specifications, including function models, process flow diagrams, and report/screen layouts.
- Prepare presentations for recommendations and solution designs.
- Coordinate with the testing team to plan and execute system integration and regression testing.
- Resolve functional issues in post-production during the cutover period.
- Support senior stakeholders in preparing user guides and providing training.
Required Skills & Experience:
Top Three Skills (in order of importance):
- Property & Casualty Insurance Experience – 3 years preferred.
- Financial Data Experience – 1 year.
- GuideWire Experience – 1 year.
Technical Skills & Tools:
- SQL – Extract and manipulate data from databases.
- Excel – Organize and analyze data.
- Kafka (GuideWire) – Process financial event data.
- JSON – Work with structured data for API integrations.
- Python – Automate validation of test scenarios.
Daily Responsibilities Using Technology Tools:
- Extract and manipulate data using SQL and Excel or from Kafka/JSON payloads.
- Review test scenarios against business requirements to validate test cases.
- Automate test scenario validation using Python.
Team-Specific Responsibilities:
- Review business requirements for processing financial events from GuideWire through FinPAL and downstream consumers.
- Validate test cases and identify errors in staging and standardization tables.
- Identify root causes of errors and provide recommendations for resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting business requirements for large-scale applications in the insurance domain.
- Strong knowledge of scripting and database languages such as Oracle PL/SQL, MySQL.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
