Role Title: Marketing Event Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC | On-Site
Duration: 12+ Months
Role Type: W2 Contract Engagement
Pay Rate: 36-40/HR
This position involves managing and executing complex sponsorship events and activations within the Diverse Segments, Representation & Inclusion (DSRI) group under the Sponsorships & Brand Engagement Team. The role supports creating enhanced brand experiences at five or more sponsored events each year, ensuring brand alignment, event success, and compliance with internal governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hospitality & Brand Activation: Develop and execute hospitality and brand activation programs that reinforce the brand, support the DSRI sponsorship strategy, and drive business outcomes.
- Event Planning & Execution: Manage the full event lifecycle, including program development, event registration, ticketing, communication, logistics (food, beverage, transportation, staffing), and gifting.
- Timeline & Delivery: Define and oversee the execution plans and timelines to ensure successful and timely delivery of all event components.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure all processes and systems comply with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Ticketing & Allocations: Manage the availability of event tickets and allocations across business units.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Public Affairs, Line of Business, Meetings & Events), external partners, and vendors to ensure smooth event management.
- Budget Management: Oversee event budgets and ensure they align with financial guidelines.
- Performance Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of events in meeting business and brand objectives, collect feedback, and report findings.
- Leadership Presentations: Prepare presentations and documents for leadership, both independently and in collaboration with team members.
Desired Qualifications:
- Event & Project Management: Proven experience in managing sponsorship events, conferences, and activations from inception to completion with superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of working across various stakeholder groups in a complex organization.
- Independence & Initiative: Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and taking initiative in managing tasks.
- Adaptability & Problem Solving: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Collaboration: A highly motivated individual with a collaborative mindset, willing to work closely with both internal and external partners.
- Compliance & Governance: Familiarity with following governance and compliance processes related to event planning.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ months of experience in Marketing, E-business, Digital Marketing, or Digital Platforms (e.g., Mobile, Social Media), demonstrated through work experience, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
