UX Designer
Remote Work

Quick summary:
- In this role, you will help reimagine and enhance digital experiences for Life Insurance policyholders and their beneficiaries.
- As a User Experience Designer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying expertise in human-centered design, discovery, ideation, prototyping (in Figma), and user research.
- You’ll present designs to stakeholders, crafting and delivering solutions that align with member needs and strategic objectives.
Top three skills in order of importance and number of years of experience for each skill:
- Relevant, on-the-job experience in a Product Design, UX Design, or Service Design role designing user interfaces for digital products within complex design systems for web and/or native applications (at least 4 years).
- Working experience designing and supporting digital products in a team environment using human-centered design principles, methods, and problem-solving strategies (at least 4 years).
- Facilitation, collaboration, and consensus-building skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional teams (at least 2 years).
Top three technology tools this resource must have knowledge using:
- Figma and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint – or equivalent tools)
Brief description of the daily duties using the technology tools above:
- Building prototypes in Figma (for web and mobile)
- Communicating with team and presenting design work with Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
- Work remotely in a team environment with designers and producers to improve user experiences using a human-centered design approach (including web and mobile).
- Collaborate with team and internal clients to determine design requirements, member needs, and business goals for your experience.
- Conduct unmoderated user research using prototypes designed in Figma, defining goals, success measures, and synthesis to report insights and recommendations to design and business teams.
- Present designs you ve created to your team and internal clients, articulating a sound design rationale, influencing coworkers, stakeholders, and leaders to move forward using your designs.
- Interpret strategic direction into coherent and effective design solutions.

Required Qualifications:
- At least four years of relevant, on-the-job experience in a Product Design, UX Design, or Service Design role designing user interfaces within complex design systems for web and/or native applications.
- A portfolio that demonstrates working experience designing and supporting digital products in a team environment using human-centered design principles, methods, and problem-solving strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work fluently in standard applications, including Figma and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Facilitation, collaboration, and consensus-building skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated working understanding of platform-based design and best practices in website navigation, browsers, mobile patterns, information architecture, and usability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
- Highly organized, with the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks while producing high quality output.
- Demonstrates a strategic mindset by decomposing complex problems into a clear and achievable work stream requiring limited support and direction for decision making.
- Experience designing research plans, conducting user research and usability tests, and deriving actionable insights from research.
- Experience turning research insights into specific design concepts while collaborating with development and business partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a heavily regulated, compliance-driven environment.
- Comfort with making sense of complex systems, navigating ambiguity to produce workable solutions, and designing highly constrained design solutions for limited platforms.
- Experience working with research/testing tools such as UserZoom, collaboration tools such as FigJam, Mural, Miro, Rally, Jira, Slack, and Zoom, and presentation tools such as Keynote and PowerPoint.
- Experience building compelling narratives and presenting to cross-functional teams and Senior leaders.
- Portfolio that demonstrates experience creating digital product and service experiences that incorporate leading best practices across the user, business, and technical intersection of needs.
- Expertise with advanced methodologies and scalable approaches in Design Research, Service Design, UX Strategy, and Human Centered Design/Design Thinking.
- Experience with strategic thinking and planning and in identifying and maintaining focus on key success factors for the organization.
- Military experience a plus.
