Title: Project Coordinator – IT Project Management Office (PMO)
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Detroit, MI (Remote in EST)
Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will provide essential support to the Project Management Office (PMO) and assist project managers in coordinating administrative tasks, processes, and reporting. The role includes managing small to medium-sized projects, tracking deliverables, and ensuring on-time, on-budget completion of tasks. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, along with experience in project management processes and tools like Office 365 and ServiceNow.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist PMO Leadership and Project Managers in organizing and attributing project documents accurately.
- Maintain project schedules and assist in tracking deadlines and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Facilitate subcontractor/vendor coordination as needed.
- Attend project meetings and provide support, including logistics and documentation.
- Track and coordinate internal PMO initiatives to ensure timely progress.
- Ensure project deliverables are correctly tracked and approved.
- Manage smaller to medium-sized projects to meet quality, budget, and time requirements.
- Oversee application teams to ensure tasks are executed on schedule.
- Organize and coordinate PMO/project meetings, including scheduling logistics, conference bridges, and distribution lists.
- Document meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure follow-up.
- Provide process support to PMO, including:
- Time entry training, reporting, and tracking.
- Assisting Project Managers with time tracking for project resources.
- Supporting process re-engineering efforts (workflows, documentation, training, and communication).
- Portfolio management and auditing support.
- Ensure project baseline tracking for assigned projects.
Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate Degree or higher in Project Management or a related field.
- Preferred: PMI certification.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience managing projects.
- Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
- Proficiency in Office 365, SharePoint, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), and ServiceNow.
- Nice to Have: PMP certification and 5 years of experience in project coordination.
