Job Description/Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the holistic engineering deliverables across different stages of the product lifecycle, focusing on Microsoft Teams video and voice solutions. They actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within their day-to-day role to management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Achieves product commitments and influences others to do the same by using informal leadership, highly developed communication skills, and contributes to or leads technology communities. (20%)
- Utilizes automation, system tools, open source solutions, observability, and ‘security first’ principles in daily work, with a particular focus on Microsoft Teams video and voice integrations. (20%)
- Contributes to team agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established norms, with an emphasis on Microsoft Teams collaboration tools. (10%)
- Initiates high-level solution design approaches and guides the team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise, and observability, specifically for Microsoft Teams video and voice services. (10%)
- Participates in internal speaking and advocacy events, often demonstrating the capabilities of Microsoft Teams video and voice. (10%)
- Supports research activities to adopt new technology solutions in ways of developing new capabilities, especially in the realm of Microsoft Teams video and voice. (10%)
- Continues professional education and creates opportunities for core product teams to learn engineering best practices, including those related to Microsoft Teams video and voice. (10%)
- Coaches the immediate chapter and actively fosters the adoption of new technologies, with a focus on Microsoft Teams video and voice enhancements. (10%)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Information Security, or Information Technology. (Minimum required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams video and voice solutions, including Teams Rooms and Voicemail Capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone System and its integration with enterprise voice services.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with the deployment and management of Microsoft Teams Rooms and the associated hardware.
- Understanding of Microsoft Teams’ voicemail capabilities and how they integrate with Exchange mailboxes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Direct Routing and its design considerations for implementing voice services within an enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Graph PowerShell is a plus, as it will be beneficial in managing and automating tasks in the Microsoft Teams environment.
