Job Title: Hadoop Engineer
Duration: 24 Month contract with chance to extend/convert to full time.
Location: Charlotte, NC; Pheonix, AZ (HYBRID)
Pay Rate: $70-75

Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Big Data, Hadoop, MapR/Ezmeral Data Fabric, Hortonworks Data Platform, YARN, Hive, Spark, HBase, Unravel, and Privacera.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive delivery of engineering solutions for the Hadoop on cloud or on-premises Linux instances, including analysis, design, development configuration, capacity planning, expansion, and performance tuning
- Closely collaborate with data engineering teams to support development and deployment of Hive, Spark, and Hadoop jobs.
- Identify and initiate service availability/performance improvement efforts
- Contribute to the architecture design of the cluster to support growing demands and requirements.
- Contribute to planning and implementation of software and hardware upgrades related to Hadoop platforms if needed.
- Recommend and implement standards and best practices related to cluster administration using Kafka, HBase, Spark, Hive etc.
- Research and recommend cluster automation solutions
- Provide direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex support and remediation strategies
- Analysis, preparation of test data, testing, and other pre-release engineering activities
- Oversee overall systems testing and the migration of applications to the platform
- Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met or exceeded for all developed engineering solutions
