Title: Fiber Technician
Location: Midland, TX (on-site)
Duration: 12+ Months (W-2 contract – potential conversion to permanent employment)
Pay Rate: 33- 36/HR.
This position is with our lead energy client in the oil & gas industry! It is a 12 month contract and must be worked on-site… potential conversion to permanent employment upon completion of contract.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience specifically within fiber optic cabling systems
Must be able to do the following:
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and other drawings to determine the best placement for fiber optic cables
- Assist in the install of underground conduit systems and direct horizontal boring crews
- Design, plan, and oversee the installation of fiber optic cable systems
- Work with construction crews to install aerial cable
- Splice and terminate fiber optic cable
- Perform tests on fiber optic cable systems to ensure proper functioning
- Prepare cost estimates for fiber optic projects
- Keep abreast of new developments in fiber optics technology
- Assist in the development of long-range plans for fiber optic networks
- Train other personnel in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic systems
- Maintain records of fiber optic installations
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding fiber optic services
