Title: Data Engineer (NO C2C/C2H/OPT)
Location: St. Louis, MO
Duration: 24 Months Contract. W2 Only
Pay Rate: 81 – 84/HR.
Type: Hybrid 2-3 days onsite from day one
Job Description
- This position involves working directly with multiple experienced software engineers to provide development and day-to-day support for SAS and Python-based production processes centered around creation of home mortgage data feeds for risk analysis and modeling within a controlled framework, which drives financial reporting, prepayment models, credit models and cash flow models.
- The candidate’s specific responsibilities will include: recommending and participating in the design and development of processes using SAS and Python in a Linux environment; compiling/mining data from multiple, cross-business sources; ensuring adherence to data management policies, regulations and best practices. Each candidate should be able to identify continuous improvement opportunities to maximize data quality and to optimize processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be comfortable working independently with some direction from experienced engineers, and as part of a larger development team to achieve objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience coding in SAS, Python, C#, Java or similar software development languages
- Software engineering experience using SDLC concept
- Experience with relational databases, including Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Understanding of data management, data analytics and data warehousing principles.
- In-depth experience in data analytics, preferably with SAS Base and SAS macros in a Linux/UNIX environment.
- Willingness to work in the downtown St. Louis office at least 2 days a weeek
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or other quantitative field along with practical experience in software development.
