Sr. Project Manager
Location: Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO (Hybrid schedule)
Duration: 12+ Months
Position Summary:
Primary focus of the PM role will be applying role responsibilities (below) to projects associated with Wildfire Mitigation. Specifically, the key projects will be driving implementation of UAS (Unmanned Aerial Surveillance) hardware and data ingestion. Drones will be used to conduct Overhead Pole Assessments, and Feeder level assessment associated with PSPS (Public Saftey Power Shutoff) events. Data will be integrated into systems to facilitate repair prioritization as well as verifying integrity of distribution assets prior to re-energizing after a PSPS event. LEAN experience preferred. Databricks and Geospatial experience preferred.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple delivery project teams, supporting on schedule and on budget delivery to approved scope.
- Define controls to effectively manage program activities and delivery expectations
- Contribute to portfolio budget performance against approved capital plan
- Plan and monitor project progress to ensure milestones are being met
- Manage daily activities through life cycle of the project
- Manage resources across projects
- Manage project risks and issues and take measures to mitigate appropriately
- Coordinate projects and the interdependencies between projects and workstreams
- Manage stakeholders involved in the projects and program
- Align deliverables across the projects and program
Skill Set Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience with large and complex projects, with management of projects up to $10M budget or greater.
- Proven experience leading large scale software implementations.
- Proven experience leading multiple workstreams for requirements specification, design activities, implementation/coding/configuration, testing and final deployment followed by stabilization.
- Proven vendor management experience including RFP process, SOW creation, financial control, and aggressively driving vendors to meet date and budget commitments.
- Proven experience on projects with a large number of impacted users, (i.e., at least 200 users) and overseeing the associated change management.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation.
- Experienced with accrual-based accounting.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Utility experience preferred.
