Job Title: Product Owner – Workday Compensation Modules
Location: Richmond or McLean, VA (Hybrid)
Pay: $56+/hr – W2 ONLY (No C2C)
Job Type: 12 Month Contract
Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Owner with expertise in Workday Compensation Modules, Workday Planning, and Workday Validations. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and optimization of Workday’s compensation-related features, ensuring the platform aligns with organizational goals and customer needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize requirements, guide the development process, and ensure successful product delivery. Additionally, you will play an integral role in facilitating Agile sprints and fostering continuous improvement across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the product roadmap and backlog for Workday Compensation Modules, including Planning, Validations, and Compensation-related features.
- Lead the planning, definition, and prioritization of business requirements and user stories for the Workday Compensation Modules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and validate compensation-related features and improvements.
- Work closely with the development and implementation teams to ensure successful feature delivery, including planning, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
- Facilitate Agile processes, including leading sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and Finance, to ensure the product meets all organizational requirements and is aligned with broader business goals.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of product features by defining clear validation criteria and conducting testing and reviews.
- Identify and remove obstacles to progress in the delivery of product goals.
- Provide expert guidance on Workday Compensation Modules and recommend best practices for system usage.
- Maintain product documentation, including functional specifications, release notes, and user guides.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of compensation modules and work with stakeholders to implement improvements based on data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Experience with Workday Compensation Modules, including Workday Planning and Workday Validations.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst with a focus on compensation systems.
- Hands-on experience working with SaaS platforms and their integration with HR systems.
- Deep understanding of compensation processes, frameworks, and best practices in HR technology.
- Experience working in an Agile environment, including familiarity with sprints, user stories, and backlog grooming.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to HR systems and processes beyond compensation, such as talent management or benefits.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and their integration with other business systems.
- Experience working in global compensation or multi-country compensation strategies.
